Improving posture with Pilates ~ 4 week series

Join our upcoming postural series, a three-week Pilates program designed to transform the way you move, feel, and carry yourself.

Starting January 8th, we'll be launching a series of workouts that will remain on our platform, so you can participate at your own pace, or even repeat the program. With four sessions a week ranging from quick 5-minute energisers to more comprehensive 35-minute classes, there's something for everyone.

Maintaining good posture is important for general well-being, but can often be overlooked. Good posture improves joint and muscle function, reduces the risk of pain and strain, and positively influences overall physical and mental health. The focus of the program? Improving posture and strengthening muscles that can be overworked in everyday activities.

What to Expect:

We'll begin by delving into tension release – addressing the knots and stress our bodies accumulate. Expect neck stretches, mobility work for your back, hip openers, and more.

The series also hones in on strengthening postural muscles: shoulder blades, neck, core, and yes, those glutes that often get a bit lazy from prolonged sitting.

Moreover, this isn't just about exercise. It's about building body awareness, understanding how Pilates can enhance your movements, and connecting with your body to provide the support it needs.

Remember, there's no one-size-fits-all perfect posture. We're aiming to find what works uniquely for your body and guide you towards it.

Tips for Long-Term Improvement:

An easy way to improve posture long term is by integrating short movement breaks into your day. Every hour, check in on your posture. Make small adjustments while sitting or standing to improve your alignment.

Consider giving your workspace a makeover. A sit-stand desk can do wonders for your posture, physical health and mood.

Why Pilates for Posture?

Pilates incorporates sev

eral elements that can enhance posture and structural alignment. The emphasis on core strengthening, mobility, and correcting imbalances makes Pilates perfect for combating the effects of everyday stresses. Consistent Pilates practice not only improves posture but also enhances core strength, reducing the abnormal wearing of joint surfaces and decreases stress on spinal ligaments.

Good posture means better muscle and joint function, improved mood, and enhanced spine health. It's about more than just looking good; it's about feeling good from the inside out.
